In Kyrgyzstan, a State Tourism Development Fund will be created and 1 billion soms will be allocated for the development of this sphere. Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Akylbek Zhaparov stated this at a republican meeting of heads of local self-government bodies and local state administrations.
“There are objects of cultural or historical value in all regions of the country. But until now, the development of tourism infrastructure has not received due attention. No matter how many instructions were given about the need to develop tourism, things did not budge. Taking this into account, it was decided to create the State Tourism Development Fund. In addition, the repair of roads leading to tourist sites will be carried out, other issues of the development of tourism infrastructure will be resolved,” Akylbek Zhaparov said.
The Tourism Development Fund will be authorized to lease objects of the tourism industry, conclude agreements on their purchase and sale, on the joint development of tourism facilities and their shared construction, to attract investments, including within the framework of public-private partnerships.
