The Government of Kazakhstan adopted a resolution on certain issues of the Kazakhtelecom joint-stock company.
“Accept the proposal of the private company Skyline Investment Company SA to transfer 2,671,481 ordinary shares of the Kazakhtelecom joint-stock company, constituting 24.95% of the company’s authorized capital, to the republican ownership under a donation agreement,” the text of the resolution says.
Also, Alatau Capital Investment LLP, under a donation agreement, transfers 413,412 ordinary shares of the company, constituting 3.85% of the company’s authorized capital, into republican ownership.
This Resolution shall enter into force from the date of its signing.
It should be noted that earlier the Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Bagdat Musin, proposed the government to demonopolise Kazakhtelecom State Corporation. He noted that the company is a monopolist in the telecommunications services market with a share of over 80% in the fixed-line communications market and over 60% in the mobile communications market.
