German Chancellor Angela Merkel will visit Moscow on August 20, details of the visit have not yet been disclosed. This was announced on Friday at a briefing in Berlin by the official representative of the German Cabinet of Ministers Steffen Seibert.

“On Friday, August 20, the Federal Chancellor will leave for Moscow, at the beginning of next week we will tell you about the content of the program,” he said. “It is quite obvious that she will meet with the President [of Russia, Vladimir Putin],” he added.

“On August 22, Merkel will visit Kiev,” Seibert said, thus confirming the information previously disseminated from the Ukrainian side.

He did not give other details on both visits.
