President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko today during a working meeting with Minister of Transport and Communications Alexei Avramenko and Deputy Prime Minister Anatoly Sivak in charge of the sector demanded to report on the development of alternative schemes for the supply of Belarusian products abroad, BelTA has learned.
“What I would like to hear about – alternative supply schemes for our products,” the head of state outlined one of the questions of the meeting.
As BelTA was informed, on July 20, at a meeting on foreign policy priorities at the present stage, Alexander Lukashenko said that foreign trade remains the number one task for Belarusian diplomatic missions abroad. “We are a small open country with an export-oriented economy. We will not survive without exports. Do not be afraid of the so-called Western sectoral sanctions. There is always demand for our goods. You just need to put in a little more effort. If we sell our products, we will resolve the issue of sanctions. We by their work we must make them ineffective, invisible to citizens, – stressed Alexander Lukashenko. – We must, in this field, like on the street in August-September, put everyone in their place who looks askance at our country and takes up economic weapons. “
The head of state returned to this topic during the “Big Conversation with the President” – meetings with representatives of the public, the media sphere and journalists on August 9. Alexander Lukashenko, in particular, responded to Lithuania’s threats to stop the transit of potash fertilizers. “We started twirling and twirling. They shot ourselves in the leg. And now they want to close our ports in order to load chemical potash fertilizers ,” the President said.
