A regular meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission for Ensuring Compliance with Turkmenistan’s International Commitments in the Field of Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law was held on Saturday at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reported today.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Mejlis of Milli Gengesh, a number of ministries and sectoral departments, public organizations of the country. The priority tasks of expanding humanitarian cooperation with authoritative structures, primarily with the United Nations and its leading divisions, were put on the agenda. The subject of discussion was also the forms and mechanisms of implementation of national plans and programs, including joint work plans.
The meeting participants discussed the priority aspects of further work to improve the activities of state institutions and public associations in the field of ensuring human rights and the implementation of international humanitarian law in the legislation of Turkmenistan, the introduction of advanced law enforcement practice.
