The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbayev said that he admits the presence in the Central Asian states of “sleeping cells” of Al-Qaeda , ISIS and other international terrorist groups, but we are not talking about the Taliban (all three organizations are recognized as terrorist and are banned in the Kyrgyz Republic) …
“If we talk about ‘sleeping cells’, then this is not about the Taliban. The leadership of the Taliban has previously stated more than once that it is focused only on the domestic agenda and has no plans for external expansion,” he said in an interview with RIA Novosti, answering a question about the presence of“ sleeping cells ”of the Taliban in Kyrgyzstan.
“I admit that Al-Qaeda , ISIS and other international terrorist groups that are interested in promoting their ideology may have so-called sleeping cells in the Central Asian states,” Kazakbayev said.
