Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan commented on the incident with the blocking of a section of the Kapan-Goris road at a parliamentary session.
The National Security Service of Armenia reported on Thursday that on August 25, at about 23:00, the Azerbaijani side blocked the Karmrakar-Shurnukh section of the Kapan-Goris interstate road.
Pashinyan explained that in those areas that, according to the maps of the Soviet Union, were outside the territory of Soviet Armenia, the Azerbaijanis blocked the road, stating as a reason that people from the Armenian side attacked the Azerbaijani border guards last night.
The day before, the Armenian Defense Ministry denied the statement of the State Border Service of Azerbaijan that two Armenian servicemen in the southeastern section of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border allegedly attacked an Azerbaijani serviceman and wounded him with a bayonet knife.
