The communal infrastructure in Russia turned out to be worn out by 60%. This problem is especially acute in small towns. The auditor of the Accounts Chamber Natalya Trunova told about this, RIA Novosti reports.
Utilities systems, especially in small towns, are already heavily worn out: on average in Russia, wear is 60%, –reported Trunov.
She said that it is necessary to invest in this area, taking into account the latest technologies. Trunova also spoke about the need to take into account energy efficiency in housing construction, so that its parameters fit modern requirements and in reality, and not only according to documents. She believes that the help of local authorities and the federal centre is needed in the issue of housing and communal services.
In addition, Trunova reported that Russians will pay less for housing and communal services if the energy efficiency metering system changes.
