Tajik Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin took part in a virtual meeting on Afghanistan September 8, where he criticized the actions of the radical Taliban group in Panjshir province.
This meeting was initiated by the United States and Germany, and was attended by the foreign ministers of a number of countries, including Tajikistan, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Great Britain, as well as the leaders of the EU, NATO and the UN.
Touching upon the issue of ongoing hostilities in Panjshir, the Tajik Foreign Minister added that the Taliban used aircraft in attacks on Panjshir with the help of third countries, killing a large number of Tajiks. However, he did not name these countries.
Earlier, Indian media reported that Pakistani attack helicopters and drones attacked the positions of the National Resistance Front during the Taliban offensive in the Panjshir Gorge. Anti-Pakistani protests have taken place in many cities in Afghanistan.
