The Interior Ministry explained the detention of the activist Orozayym Narmatova. The ministry said that Narmatova, being the leader of the Men Maculmun and Menin Ukugum Bar social movements in Moscow, for several years “has constantly expressed unfounded criticism of the country’s leadership.”
According to the investigation, she criticized the authorities “in order to increase the protest potential among migrants and citizens on the territory of Kyrgyzstan.”
“In the publications of Orozayym Narmatova there is a negative review and discrediting of the activities of the authorities. Thus, the activity of the latter testifies to the presence of signs of biased coverage of the socio-political process in order to form negative public opinion for the further creation of conditions and prerequisites for inciting regional hostility and violent seizure of power, ”the Ministry of Internal Affairs said in a statement.
The ministry added that the collected materials on this case were registered with the ERPP under the article “Incitement of racial, ethnic, national, religious or interregional enmity (hatred).”
