The Cabinet of Ministers approved the draft state budget for 2022.
The relevant decision was made during today’s government meeting.
According to Prime Minister Denis Shmygal, the document envisages a reduction in the state budget deficit to 3.5% of gross domestic product, a reduction in public debt, wage growth, a stable hryvnia exchange rate, lower inflation, and a record GDP growth over the past ten years. about 4%.
“The budget for 2022 is not only balanced and realistic, it is a budget for modernization of the country, economic recovery and investment in people, their health, education, development. Key priorities remain unchanged. These are medicine, education, army, infrastructure, social programs, digitalization, support for entrepreneurs and the economy, “he said.
According to him, it is proposed to allocate 197.2 billion hryvnias for the medical sector, which is 35.8 billion more than this year. This will increase the minimum salary for doctors to the level of 20 thousand hryvnias, and the average salary of doctors will exceed 22 thousand.
UAH 185.6 billion is provided for education, which is UAH 21 billion more than in 2021. This will increase teachers’ salaries and scholarships.
The budget of the Pension Fund should amount to UAH 531 billion, which is UAH 31 billion more than in 2021. This will allow indexation of pensions on March 1, 2022 – for this government provides 28.2 billion UAH.
The security and defense sector is projected at 5.95% of GDP, or UAH 319.4 billion, which is UAH 52.1 billion more than in 2021.
UAH 124.1 billion is provided for the development of road infrastructure.
According to Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko, nominal GDP in 2022 should amount to UAH 5 trillion 368.7 billion, real GDP growth should amount to 3.8%, and the consumer price index to 6.2%. Other important forecast indicators are the growth of exports by 6.5% and imports – by 9.2%. The average exchange rate of hryvnia to the dollar should be 28.6.
The revenue part of the budget is UAH 1 trillion 277.7 billion, which is UAH 161.7 billion more than this year. Expenditure – UAH 1 trillion 465.7 billion (an increase of UAH 103.1 billion).
