President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov raised the issue of the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border at a summit of the CSTO Collective Security Council in Dushanbe on September 16, the press service of the Kyrgyz president said.
Continuing tensions on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border forces the Kyrgyz side to pay special attention of all CSTO member states to this issue, Japarov highlighted.
“The Kyrgyz Republic, being a peace-loving, open and democratic state, since the first days of independence has pursued and is pursuing a consistent, friendly, good-neighborly and balanced policy towards neighboring and all the countries of the world in general. Kyrgyzstan’s position to solve disputes exclusively through peace and political and diplomatic methods at the negotiating table remains unchanged to this day,” he said.
Japarov voiced a number of proposals, including the development of mechanisms of rapid response and decision-making within the framework of the Organization in case of an armed aggression of one member state of the CSTO against another.
