Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland on Tuesday met with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov to discuss the Karabakh conflict, as well as other topics.
“We look forward to progress, including through the mechanism of the Minsk Group co-chairs, to promote peace and stability in the region, to release detainees, mine clearance and political reconciliation.
The United States thanks Azerbaijan for supporting our evacuation efforts in Afghanistan,” Nuland tweeted following the meeting.
A high-ranking official of the State Department is scheduled to meet with the Armenian Foreign Minister to discuss the Karabakh problem. Jeyhun Bayramov and Ararat Mirzoyan are in New York to attend the 76th session of the UN General Assembly and are expected to address the Assembly on Thursday and Friday, respectively.
