Labor and Social Protection Minister Anton Kotyakov said that in 2022 social pensions will be indexed by 7.7%. The recalculation will be made on April 1. He told about this in an interview with RIA Novosti.
“The social pension is indexed in proportion to the increase in the pensioner’s subsistence minimum relative to the previous year. Taking this into account, the social pension, which is indexed annually from April 1, will be increased by 7.7%” , – assured head of department.
The indexation of social pensions is carried out annually on April 1. Its size changes depending on the growth rate of the living wage of a pensioner over the past year.
Social pensions are intended for people who have not managed to accumulate enough work experience to receive an insurance pension. In 2021, the size of the social pension indexation was 3.4%.
