Former President of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili announced on October 1 that he had arrived in Georgia.
In a video posted on Facebook, filmed late at night, Saakashvili is addressing citizens allegedly from the city of Batumi. Earlier, he published a ticket for the Kiev-Tbilisi flight on October 2 and said that he would soon arrive in Tbilisi.
According to media reports, the Interior Ministry does not confirm the information and states that the former president did not cross the border.
In a video message, the former president called on citizens to support the United National Movement and Nika Melia in the elections, as well as those “other small parties” that “you like and you think they are honest.”
“Do not vote for Ivanishvili or Gakharia, who promises to put me in jail. Not for those small parties that obviously receive money from Ivanishvili,” he added.
