The Iranian Foreign Minister, who was in Moscow, in an interview with the Russia 24 TV channel made further statements that contradict the real situation in the region.
In particular, he said: “Armenia and Azerbaijan are our good neighbors, and we cannot work with one of them against the other. The other day the head of the Armenian Foreign Ministry was in Iran, it would be nice if the head of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry visited Tehran. And I, too, will visit Yerevan and Baku as soon as possible.”
He further added that Iran is concerned that “some foreign forces are trying to influence the South Caucasus region to change its borders, close border crossings or relocate them. At the same time, we note the presence there of terrorists who appeared during the war in Karabakh. At the official talks, the representatives of Azerbaijan promised that they would take measures to cleanse the region of terrorists…”
