About dozens of Azerbaijani human rights organizations have sent appeals to the UN Human Rights Committee and Amnesty International with a call to protect the rights of arrested Azerbaijanis in Iran.
NGOs, members of the Working Group on Human Rights, express concern over the fate of ethnic Azerbaijanis recently arrested in Iran and draw the attention of the UN and Amnesty International to this.
The appeal noted that the victory of Azerbaijan in the Second Karabakh War aroused sympathy of ethnic Azerbaijanis living in Iran. On this occasion, in September last year, a rally was held in the city of Ardabil, the participants of which protested against the fact that official Tehran provides all-round assistance to Armenia.
