Freight traffic across the border has increased by 10% this year. Chairman of the State Customs Committee Vladimir Orlovsky announced this today during the opening of the electronic queue system at the Benyakoni checkpoint, BelTA has learned.
“Despite the sanctions pressure on our country, the economy is working, the country remains attractive for transit. Moreover, transit through Belarus is increasing. This year, more than 2 million trucks have crossed the border, which is 10% more than last year,” Vladimir Orlovsky said. Since the beginning of 2021, trade has also increased by 12%.
According to the Chairman of the State Customs Committee, the growth of customs payments to the budget testifies to the success of the economy and enterprises of the country. In 2021, more than Br8 billion has already been allocated to the budget, which is 20% more than in the same period last year.
