The senators at the sixth session of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the seventh convocation approved the bill “On Tourism”, BelTA has learned.
The bill provides for updating and supplementing the conceptual apparatus in the field of tourism, defining the basic principles, goals and priorities of state regulation of tourism, introducing ways to ensure that the tour operator fulfills its obligations under contracts for the provision of tourism services in the field of international outbound tourism.
“This is a necessary bill, which will more fully, deeply and conceptually approach the formation of tourism activities in our country,” said Viktor Liskovich, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Council of the Republic on Education, Science, Culture and Social Development.
The senator noted that today Belarus is very attractive in terms of tourism, both for our citizens and for foreigners. But it is necessary to protect our citizens from various unpleasant situations that may arise in the provision of tourist services.
“The law provides for the financial responsibility of tour operators. This can be insurance, some funds of tour operators and bank guarantees. It also provides for the settlement of disputes between tour operators and consumers of travel services. -translators. They must be professionally certified. If they do not fulfill their functions in full, then they will be suspended from work, “explained Viktor Liskovich.
