On the southern border of Armenia – in the Syunik region, new outposts are being built, the conditions of military service will be improved, Deputy Head of the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia Aram Hakobyan said on Monday when discussing the draft 2022 state budget in parliamentary commissions.

He said that based on the situation, conscripts, who were not there in the past, were recently involved in the protection of the Armenian state border line on the territory of Syunik (it borders with Iran and Azerbaijan – ed.).

“A fairly large number of conscripts serve there, for this reason we have increased funds for the purchase of medicines,” the deputy head of the National Security Service said, pointing out the currently unsatisfactory conditions of military service.
