Project “Engaging stakeholders in solving problems related to uranium legacy in Central Asia. Phase II ”organized trainings for women entrepreneurs in the cities of Angren (Tashkent region) and Pap (Namangan region). More than 40 women living in the territories of the uranium heritage and in nearby cities were able to gain new knowledge in the field of women’s entrepreneurship development, taking into account the existing challenges and opportunities for the development of a “green” economy.
Women in remote areas are key players in the economic, environmental and social change required for sustainable development. Their empowerment is key not only to the well-being of individuals, but to overall economic well-being.
UNDP supports women’s participation in shaping laws and policies on all issues affecting their lives, including managing the impact of uranium waste on their health and the health of their families, as well as the environment. This training was aimed not only at improving skills in the field of business development, but also at involving women in solving social, economic and environmental issues through their business projects.
