The Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline is ready to launch. This was announced during a closed telephone conference with investors by the Deputy Head of the Gazprom Department Alexei Finikov.
“The Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline has been completed and is ready to launch,” he said.
The first string of the gas pipeline has already been filled with technical gas, and the second string is in the process of being prepared for filling, added a top manager of the gas holding.
However, he declined to comment on the certification process of Nord Stream 2 AG as an independent transport operator.
The construction of Nord Stream 2 was fully completed on September 10, 2021. It was originally planned to be completed by the end of 2019, but construction was delayed due to US sanctions. The gas pipeline consists of two lines with a total capacity of 55 billion cubic meters. m per year, which run from the coast of Russia through the Baltic Sea to Germany.
