Uzbekistan’s petrol imports increase almost by half in January-September
Uzbekistan imported 289 million litres of petrol in the first nine months of this year for $104 million, an increase of 137 million litres compared to the same period last year.
In January-September, Uzbekistan imported 140.5 million litres from Russia, 126.8 million litres from Turkmenistan, 16 million litres from Kazakhstan and 3.6 million litres from Iraq, the State Statistics Committee said.
Fuel prices have been rising for several years in the Central Asian nation and, according to the statistics committee, since the beginning of the year, petrol prices have increased by 28 percent.
