Journalist Agnieszka Pikulicka flew to Poland. The Uzbek authorities expelled her from the country, according to a Podrobno.uz correspondent.
“Thank you all for your messages and support, it means a lot. I am now in Poland safe and sound, but it will take me time to cope with the [psychological] trauma. I always knew that Uzbekistan is a difficult country to work with, but then what happened to me reminds me of the worst days of the Karimov era,” the journalist wrote on Twitter.
She also added that the Polish Embassy in Uzbekistan has not yet told her the reason for the expulsion from Uzbekistan.
“I hope that the Foreign Ministry understands that such actions make them unprofessional and unreliable in the eyes of the international community, foreign investors and tourists,” she said.
