Minister of Culture and Information Policy Alexander Tkachenko wrote a letter of resignation.
He announced this on his Facebook page .
“Today I sent my statement to the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk,” Tkachenko said.
The reason for the decision, he called the separation of the State Film Agency from the ministry under the direct control of the Cabinet.
“Instead of continuing to implement the European concept of reform on the transfer of operational functions to services and relevant agencies, which I insisted on since February, a decision is being made that I cannot agree with,” Tkachenko replied.
Another reason for the resignation, which Tkachenko pointed out, was the cultural budget for next year, the nature of the discussion of which and the final amount for the minister were unacceptable.
