There is no Internet access in 1178 villages in Kazakhstan.
In Kazakhstan, about 1200 villages remain outside the coverage of mobile broadband Internet, and about 630 remote villages do not have a cellular connection. And the situation is not changing, despite the fact that telecom operators have been provided with tax incentives for the period from 2020 to 2024, Yeldala reports.
During this period, the budget will receive less than 85 billion tenge, which operators should use to implement projects to promote high-quality Internet, primarily in rural areas. Another 17 billion is provided in the draft three-year republican budget for the implementation of state obligations on PPP projects. Deputy Sergei Karplyuk announced this at a meeting of the Senate.
He turned to the Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan with the question of when high-quality Internet will appear in the villages.
