Ukraine is changing its border management strategy to finally put the checkpoints in order.
This was stated by Prime Minister Denis Shmygal, according to the Department of Communications of the Secretariat of the CMU .
According to him, the situation on the borders of Belarus with Lithuania and Poland is more tense than ever. This is a migration crisis, which Ukraine sees as a hybrid attack caused by Russia on Belarusian territory.
Shmygal reminded that last week the government allocated UAH 21 million to strengthen the Ukrainian border with the Republic of Belarus. According to the Prime Minister, this amount is needed to start strengthening those areas where there is a possibility of migrants passing, who are currently on the Belarusian-Polish border.
“UAH 21 million is the initial amount that will be used for the construction of special fortifications, as well as to increase the number of border troops in the relevant areas of Ukraine’s border. Funds will be added to this amount as needed,” said the head of government.
He also added that Ukraine has a program to build a state border.
“We are changing the strategy of our borders. The Ministry of Infrastructure will create a department that will deal with civilian infrastructure at the border, so that we can finally put the checkpoints in order. This will also be implemented within the” Large Construction “program,” said the Prime Minister.
