On December 1, at the Kyrgyz-Tajik border, unidentified persons fired 7-8 shots from the direction of Tajikistan. The border service of Kyrgyzstan said that the search for the shooters had already begun.
This happened at about 21:15 in the Dakhma area of the Batken region, near the Kyrgyz-Tajik border.
“Unknown persons fired 7-8 shots from the direction of Tajikistan. Presumably, the shots were fired from a hunting rifle. The heads of the border outposts of the two countries agreed to look for those involved in the shooting together. Measures to prevent provocations at the border were discussed,” the ministry said in a statement.
The border service reported that the situation in the evening was “stable with elements of tension.” From today, the border guards decided to patrol the border area. The situation in the area is calm.
