The European Union is allocating 31 million euros to Ukraine to strengthen its defense capabilities.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba reported in microblog Twitter.
“Important news from Brussels. The EU Council has decided to provide 31 million euros to Ukraine to strengthen its defense capabilities under the newly established European Peace Facility. We appreciate this step, which once again demonstrated the strategic nature of Ukraine-EU relations,” Kuleba said.
The Minister added that Ukraine has worked hard to reach a positive solution to this issue.
“Ukrainian diplomacy has worked hard and systematically to achieve this result, and we finally have a positive decision – thanks to a long and fruitful discussion of Ukrainian diplomats with the EU institutions and its member states,” the minister added.
In particular, he said, “this aid package will include providing logistical assistance to develop and strengthen the capacity of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in four areas: medicine, engineering capabilities and demining, mobility and logistics, cybersecurity.”
