On behalf of the Belarusian people and himself, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko congratulated the Emir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, his deputy Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani and the people of this country on the National Day. BelTA learned this from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

Alexander Lukashenko noted that in recent years Qatar’s influence in the Middle East region and in the international arena has been constantly growing. Next year, the country will host the FIFA World Cup, which will become a landmark sporting event on a global scale.

The head of state stressed that Belarus pays significant attention to the development of cooperation with Qatar. This year, the countries celebrated the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
