Georgian Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani held a phone talk with his Ukrainian counterpart Dmytro Kuleba on Monday during which they discussed “common challenges” related to Russian occupation, the Georgian Foreign Ministry announces.
During the telephone conversation, Zalkaliani once again reaffirmed Georgia’s unwavering support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity amid ongoing military tension at the country’s border due to the build-up of Russian troops.
“The Georgian government and the Georgian people are in solidarity with the friendly Ukrainian state and people in this difficult time,” Zalkaliani says.
The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs also reported that Zalkaliani expressed Georgia’s solidarity with Ukraine regarding aggression of the Russian Federation, “assured of steadfast support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our state.”
