Transparency International has published its report on the Corruption Perceptions Index for 2021, which includes Kyrgyzstan.
According to the report of the organization, for 2021 Kyrgyzstan scored 27 points out of 100 and ranked 148 out of 183. The closer the country is to the last place, the higher the level of corruption. The African countries of Uganda and Cameroon scored the same points.
The index ranks countries on a scale from 0 to 100, where zero is the highest level of corruption and 100 is the lowest.
The Corruption Perceptions Index, which is published annually by the organization, is a composite and measures the level of corruption in the public sector in different countries. The index is based on surveys of experts and entrepreneurs conducted by independent organizations around the world and has been published since 1995.
In the 2020 report, Kyrgyzstan received 31 points and ranked 124 out of 180 countries.
