The government does not plan to introduce new restrictions due to the situation with the coronavirus, and there is no talk of a lockdown. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting with members of the all-Russian public organization “Business Russia”.
“Last evening, only, quite late, we discussed this topic with the Prime Minister, parted ways with him somewhere already, probably at two in the morning. We talked for a long time, including on this issue. The government has no such plans – to introduce any then additional restrictions,” the head of state said.
On the contrary, he continued, taking into account the peculiarities of the course of covid caused by the omicron strain, some measures can be canceled. Putin explained that the relevant Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova recently discussed this issue with employers and trade unions.
“Employers and trade unions have certain concerns, because in one case employers want to ensure the availability of workers, and trade unions are concerned that people receive full wages. The general conclusion is that even restrictions on so-called contact persons can be shoot soon,” the president said.
