Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has agreed to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Turkey.
This was reported by CNN Turk .
Earlier, Erdogan invited Putin and Zelensky to Ankara to “discuss and resolve differences.”
“We have received a positive response to our invitation for Putin to return to Turkey after his return from China. We are setting a date. Then we want to bring together Mr. Putin and Mr. Zelensky at a high level. Our agreement with Mr. Zelensky is in this direction.” he told reporters.
Dmitry Peskov, a spokesman for the Russian president, said the Kremlin did not rule out a meeting between the Russian and Ukrainian presidents.
“But in order for this to happen, it is necessary that something be done from previous agreements,” RIA quoted him as saying .
“It is very difficult to talk about some meetings at the highest level. Because meetings at the highest level still need to be prepared, they should not be spontaneous, they should not be ineffective and meaningless. So far we are limping with preparations,” Peskov said.
As UNIAN reported earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan met in Kyiv yesterday.
