Officials of the departments of the National Security Committee of the Almaty and Kyzylorda regions showed inaction during the January events. This was announced by the head of the Special Prosecutors Service, Rizabek Ozharov, at a briefing of the Central Communication Service, reports Kainform correspondent.

“We are considering the version that some leaders of law enforcement agencies deliberately blocked the actions of special forces designed to ensure law and order,” said Rizabek Ozharov.

It was noted that a pre-trial investigation is being carried out on these facts. At the same time, the National Security Committee is investigating criminal cases of high treason and an attempt to seize power by force. To date, the former chairman of the National Security Committee and two of his deputies have been taken into custody.
