A medium-range anti-aircraft missile system (SAM) with a Belarusian-made missile is in Belarus at the final stage of testing. This was announced on Sunday by the chairman of the State Military Industrial Committee (GVPK) of the republic, Dmitry Pantus, on the air of the STV channel.

“It is worth noting the launches of the medium-range anti-aircraft missile system. There were three stages of testing, and in the first quarter of 2022 we reached the final stage of testing, they will be carried out literally in a week, extreme tests with live firing, after which it will be possible to say with confidence if we succeed, about the creation of a completely Belarusian anti-aircraft missile system, our own domestic missile,” the head of the department noted.

According to Pantus, “the rocket is of primary importance – it is, first of all, the economy and competencies.” “For us today, this is the top, the key area to which we pay special attention. The creation of weapons is one of our key tasks,” he explained.
