The Kirovsky District Court of Yekaterinburg sentenced Konstantin Kozlovsky, leader of the Lurk hacker group, to 14 years in a strict regime colony, a TASS correspondent reports from the courtroom.

“Konstantin Kozlovsky was found guilty <…> and by partial addition, he was sentenced to imprisonment for a term of 14 years to be served in a strict regime colony with restriction of freedom for a term of 1 year,” the judge said.

Konstantin Kozlovsky, before the start of the court session, told reporters that, in his opinion, the case was fabricated, and there were inconsistencies in the indictment. During his speech with the last word, he said that he was fulfilling the tasks of the security officials who supervised him, including those related to interference in the US election campaign. However, according to a TASS source, during the investigation, the group’s connection with the FSB was not established, and the examinations did not find traces of attacks on the US government on the equipment seized from hackers.

The remaining members of the Lurk hacker group received from five years and one month in a general regime colony to 13 years in a strict regime colony. According to a TASS correspondent, the defendants who, according to the verdict, occupied coordinating and leading positions in the group, received the longest terms: Igor Popov – 13 years in a strict regime colony, Gennady Kobylsky – 12.5 years in a strict regime colony. The least – five years and one month in a general regime colony – was received by Dmitry Silkin, who left the group and did not participate in the crimes charged to the rest of the defendants. 

Also, four people received nine years in a general regime colony, eight people – eight years of general regime, one – eight years and seven months, two – seven years and nine months. Georgy Kobylsky received five years and six months, after which he made a scandal, because of which he was taken out of court. Another defendant, Valentina Ryakina, had her sentence suspended (five years and six months) until the child reached the age of majority. In total, 21 members of the group were sentenced, and another one is hiding and is wanted.
