The US government has offered Ukraine sovereign credit guarantees of up to $ 1 billion to help strengthen its economy amid a possible threat from the Russian Federation.

This is stated in a statement by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, posted on the website of the State Department .

“The loan will help support Ukraine’s economic reform program and ongoing cooperation with the International Monetary Fund, as well as promote economic stability, growth and prosperity of the Ukrainian people,” Blinken said.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky thanked the United States for $ 1 billion in financial support. “Strategic partnership in action! We are grateful to the United States for providing substantial financial support of $ 1 billion and $ 3 billion available for projects in Ukraine,” the president wrote on Twitter .

Zelensky also thanked US President Joseph Biden “for a quick solution and concrete results” after their conversation.
