Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover at $3.5 bln in January
Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover amounted to $3.5 billion in January 2022, up from $2.3 billion in January 2021, the State Statistics Committee said.
In the first month of 2022, the country’s foreign trade deficit amounted to $700 million.
Exports stood at $1.4 billion, 1.4 percent up from January 2021, imports totalled $2.1 billion showing 28 percent increase compared to the same period of 2021.
Uzbekistan’s top trade partners are China, Russia, Turkey and Kazakhstan.
In 2021, the Central Asian country’s foreign trade turnover amounted to $42.1 billion, up from $36.2 billion in 2020. The country’s foreign trade deficit amounted to $8.9 billion last year.
