On 1 March, the mayor of Tashkent, Jakhongir Artikkhojayev, met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Uzbekistan Olgan Bekar.
Ambassador Bekar thanked J. Artikkhodzhaev for the reception and noted the active pace of development of Uzbek-Turkish relations, which is undoubtedly the result of a strategic partnership established by the heads of our states, and announced the upcoming visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Uzbekistan as part of the II Summit on a strategic partnership, which will take place at the end of March.
The parties also discussed the possibility of allocating a land plot for the expansion of the Turkish School and naming one of the streets of Tashkent after the first President of Turkey Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, as well as issues of Turkish companies involved in construction in Tashkent.
