Uzbekistan will legalize loan agreements in foreign currency between individuals. Now, for example, when Uzbeks lend dollars to each other, they draw up agreements between themselves in writing in the form of a receipt. However, if problems arise, the court will not be able to accept this document, a Podrobno.uz correspondent reports.
Deputies of the lower house of parliament adopted in the first reading the draft law “On amendments and additions to certain legislative acts in connection with the improvement of the system for protecting the legitimate interests of business entities and contractual relations.”
The document provides for the introduction of a procedure for granting mutual loans in foreign currency. Under current legislation, it is not allowed to conclude a loan agreement and repay it in foreign currency. The law “On currency regulation” does not provide for this issue in the list of currency exchange operations between residents.
