Uzbek archaeologists believe that the hoard of coins found on the right bank of the Tupalang River in the Sariasi district of the Surkhandarya region is the largest such find dating back to the reign of the famous Mirzo Ulugbek, Podrobno.uz correspondent reports.
Recall that the treasure was discovered on March 2 by residents of the nearby mahalla, who then illegally appropriated the coins. After a series of meetings, the residents handed over to representatives of the Agency for Cultural Heritage and the State Museum of Arts of Uzbekistan, first 512 copper coins, and then another 620 copper coins and a chessboard.
