The Russian side hopes that Ukraine will be a neutral country, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said at a press conference after a meeting in Antalya with his Ukrainian counterpart Dmitry Kuleba. He noted that Moscow considers unacceptable NATO’s refusal to take into account Russian interests in the expansion of the Alliance, RIA Novosti reports.
The Russian Federation wants Ukraine to be neutral, ready to discuss guarantees for its security. We consider unacceptable NATO’s refusal to take into account Moscow’s interests in matters of Alliance expansion, — said Lavrov.
The minister also stated that the Russian Federation did not attack Ukraine. A situation has arisen in this country that carries direct threats to Russia’s security. According to him, Ukraine carefully planned an attack on the DPR and LPR in March 2022.
He also noted that Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine is going according to plan.
