Operatives of the State Security Service (SSS) stopped the activities of persons involved in the distribution of materials of extremist content and planning to travel to Syria to participate in hostilities, a law enforcement agency told Podrobno.uz correspondent.
In particular, four residents of Khiva, born between 2002 and 2004, actively studied and disseminated extremist materials through their mobile phones, as well as speeches by the ideologists of international terrorist organisations Abu Salah, Abdullah Bukhari, Abdullah Zufar, Sadiq Samarkandi and others.
They also made contact with members of terrorist organisations in Syria, intending to join their ranks.
“In addition, during another special operation in Khiva, three men were detained, born between 1995 and 1999, who, being labor migrants, fell under the influence of religious fanatics and extremists through social networks during their stay abroad. After returning to their homeland, they created groups in social networks, where they continued to study and distribute prohibited materials.”
