Georgia’s trade deficit was $1.019 billion in January-February this year, compared with $664.6 million a year earlier, the National Statistics Office said.
The country’s trade turnover totalled $2.539 billion, 49.2 percent more than in the first two months of the last year.
Exports equalled $760.4 million, 54.5 percent up from January-February 2021, while imports stood at $1.779 billion, 47 percent more than a year earlier.
In 2021, the trade deficit was $5.835 billion, compared with $818.6 million a year earlier. The country’s trade turnover totalled $14.319, 25.6 percent more than in 2020. Exports rose by 26.9 percent year-on-year to $4.242 billion, while imports stood at $10.077 billion, 25.1 percent more than a year earlier.
