Azerbaijan can increase the supply of finished fuel for the agricultural sector of Ukraine, but not directly, but through the EU countries.

Azerbaijan is a major producer of oil and oil products and Ukraine’s partner in the supply of imported raw materials. The Azerbaijani company SOCAR Energy Ukraine is a major operator in the automotive fuel market of Ukraine. The company also imports aviation fuel to Ukraine.

According to the State Customs Service, last year Ukraine imported oil and petroleum products worth $827.59 million, which is twice as much as in 2020 ($409.17 million), including $586.18 million from Azerbaijan. dollars. That is, the share of Azerbaijan in the total volume of oil imports to Ukraine amounted to 70.8% in 2021.

Gennady Ryabtsev, director of special projects at the Psyche scientific and technical center, told the publication that Azerbaijani fuel could arrive in Ukraine for sowing due to swap deliveries.
