Kazakhstan is considering imposing restrictions on the export of grain and flour, Minister of Agriculture Yerbol Karashukeev told reporters on the sidelines of the government hour in the Majilis on Monday.
“Now the issue of imposing restrictions on the export of grain and flour is being worked out. We are now working on it,” Karashukeev said.
He noted that the Ministry of Agriculture is keeping under control the situation on the introduction by Russia of a temporary ban on the export of grain and flour.
“We know this situation, we keep it under control. Our grain balance this morning is positive, and it will be positive. For the domestic market, we have enough for consumption. There will still be some left for export, at the level of average annual volumes,” the minister believes.
At the same time, he noted, exporters still do not want to sell grain to the domestic market and are waiting for prices to rise.
