Kazakh Energy Minister Bolat Akchulakov believes that the accident at the Caspian Pipeline Consortium really happened due to a storm in the Black Sea, and this is not an act of sabotage by the Russian Federation. He stated this to journalists on Wednesday on the sidelines of the Mazhilis.
“I read (an investigation by the German edition of Handelsblatt). I don’t see any political tricks there (in the accident), these are technical things. If there was some act of sabotage or something like that, it would not work at all, it is logical. If it works at 60% (export) capacity, what was the point of arranging such a diversion?” Akchulakov said.
The Head of the Ministry of Energy reminded that CPC currently operates one berth, through which about 60% of the capacity is shipped. The reason for the failure of TLU-2 and TLU-3 was found out, however, the repair team of divers is still unable to descend and start working due to the ongoing storm.
