Illegally deported Ukrainians are sent to the most remote and unfavorable regions of the Russian Federation. They are exported to Siberia, Chechnya, the Far East and the North Caucasus.

This information was shared by The Independent, citing official documents from the Kremlin.

The journalists of the portal got access to the decree of the Russian authorities on the forced relocation of 95,739 residents of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions. Some of them were sent as far as 5,500 miles (8,850 kilometers) from home.

“The decree noted that “taking into account the situation in Ukraine”, the Russian Federation “coordinates the distribution” of citizens into “subjects of the Russian Federation” and asked the authorities to “ensure the reception” of 95,739 people.

For Ukrainians, 11,398 places were allocated in Siberia, 7,218 in the Far East, and 7,023 in the North Caucasus. Other regions where our citizens are sent include Chechnya, Ingushetia and Dagestan.
