One of the berths at the Caspian Pipeline Consortium may start operating today, but before the end of the week, Kazakhstani oil should go through the CPC in full, the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan expects. The head of the department, Bolat Akchulakov, told journalists on the sidelines of the Mazhilis on Wednesday.
“Today the situation is as follows: the repair work is basically completed. They were held intermittently due to weather conditions. The replacement of pipes is completed, pressure testing was completed yesterday, filling with water to identify any problem areas in case, in order to avoid spills. Today we expected that we would drain the water, drive the tanker, and it would start working,” Akchulakov said.
It is expected that VLU-3 will start working today, plus VLU-1 was working earlier. Thus, the pipeline will restore 100% of export capacity.
